The Campbell textbook we use in AP Biology is extremely detailed and covers a vast amount of information. The purpose
of these objectives are to help you know what to focus on in your reading assignments. Use these objectives when deciding
what is important to include in your notes from your reading.
I think there is very little accomplished in "blind studying" for a test. (By "blind studying," I mean studying
for a test that does not have its objectives defined) Therefore these objectives will help guide you in studying. Please
note that not all chapter test questions will be focused on these objectives, but if you can answer these questions correctly
then you will have the main concepts of each chapter down!
The following website link has the OFFICIAL Campbell lecture outlines available, which are superior to many other
sources. The website also lists chapter objectives that are most helpful in outlining our major objectives.
IMPORTANT (Read below):
Now that we are moving on to Ch 6 and beyond, I need to point
out something about the website link below.
On the link below, the chapter numbers do not correspond
in order with the book because the website utilizes a higher book edition (that reorganized chapter order).
Your chapter 6 is titled “An Introduction
to Metabolism” in the book but if you look for that title on the website, you will see it is actually under the
“Ch 8” button on the website. From this point on, you will need
to look up the objectives by chapter title and not number.
